ACCOMPLISHMENTS - Helped RECAP find funding opportunities
available for their Middletown expansion project to expand and consolidate their services to meet the growing human needs
of the low income population. RECAP has contracted to purchase and renovate a 20,000 square foot building in downtown Middletown.
I made them aware of a new grant program called Restore NY Communities Initiative that they were going to apply for.
- Helped the Village of Warwick obtain disbursement of grant monies for the 2nd portion of the grant they were awarded for
repairing the Lower Reservoir Dam. What was needed by the DEC was to do final inspection of the Lower Reservoir Dam in order
for the Village of Warwick to get the final grant payment. Warwick got final disbursement in May 2006 but had been waiting
for the DEC for over a year.
- Helped prevent the closure of a local DOL office in Goshen that provides services
and assistance to the farmers, migrant workers, and Farmworker Community Center in Goshen.
- Worked with the DOT,
at a constituent's request, to compromise about when road construction will be happening on 17A during apple picking season,
so that tourism revenue wouldn't be lost.
- Annie toured District businesses, Mount Alverno, Novartis, Avon,
and became aware of their concerns and what they needed help with and followed through.
- Worked closely with municipal
officials. They came to us with concerns regarding their municipality and even concerns that they had from constituents that
they needed our help with.
- Worked in a bipartisan fashion with other members of the Assembly to get the people's
work done.
- Took a strong stand in favor of civil confinement of sexual predators and held a press conference
together with local police officials.
- Introduced and passed legislation creating the Warwick Community Preservation
Act.
- Got the word out about disaster assistance available through the state and federal government to my constituents
affected by flooding.
- Helped get Rockland County designated an Empire Zone.
- Helped constituents
with state law questions and helped them understand the law or provide clarity of the law. Was frequently the peoples liaison,
between them and a state agency, helping them to find answers and fix problems they were having with a state agency.
- President of the Assembly Freshman Class, bipartisan group. Also Parliamentarian of the American-Irish Legislators Society.

Acted as liaison between the residents of Tuxedo Park and Columbia Pipeline regarding the proposed
installation of a gas line through their development. Negotiated an alternative route through the Palisades Park.
Fighting on behalf of my constituents to ensure New York Regional Interconnect does not get approval from the state to put
a high voltage power line through their backyards.
